MK-677 (also known as Ibutamoren or Nutrobal) acts as a potent, orally active growth hormone secretagogue. By mimicking the growth hormone stimulating action of the endogenous hormone ghrelin, MK677 is designed to stimulate the pituitary gland to increase release of and produced sustained increases in plasma levels of several hormones including growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), with little to no increase in cortisol. As a potent orally administered growth hormone releasing compound, MK-677 provides many of the benefits of injectable GH releasing peptides, such as Ipamorelin or GHRP6, without the need for injections.
